Hey guys! I know it’s been ages since I last posted, life happened 🙂 . I’m back with this first installment of my recent trip to Bali. It was our first time there. And omg it definitely did not disappoint.
Bali oh Bali! It’s been three weeks since our trip and we’re still talking about you, posting pictures of you, well all of us technically haha. We can’t seem to move on. Not yet.
So how did I prepare for this trip? Let me count the ways…
We got our airfare from a Cebu Pacific sale sometime in May 2017. Not Piso fare. Bali fares seldom goes on sale anyway. So I just grab whatever discounted fare they have. Lucky that I booked the 8 of us all in one go 🙂 .
I booked thru Agoda our Ubud and Seminyak accommodation two months prior to our trip.
Last month I started to look for transportation. Specifically a van that we can use to go around. Much better if the driver is also a tour guide. I emailed and drop fb messages to some prospects inquiring about their day tour rates. At this point I haven’t finalized yet our itinerary. So many temples so little time haha. I’m still looking around googling and reading blogs on the best places to visit for the 5 days that we have. I look into those places on my list and you know familiarized myself on how it looks by looking at pictures, what time it opens/close, does it have restroom (very important to me), what to wear, and things like that. We traveled with a lot of gadgets so I have to consider that too. Do they allow big cameras inside, how about flying of drone, do we need a permit? Things like that. I also looked into Instagram for Bali travel pictures for inspiration. That’s where I found my driver. And his services includes a drone! Yay!!!
One week before the trip I booked a wifi 4g device at Klook for pick up at Denpasar airport on the day of our arrival. I highly recommend this if you want to be connected all the time. I didn’t noticed any spot issues. Google map worked and we didn’t get lost. It only last 4-6 hrs of battery only depending on usage. No battery pack included so I brought one. You need to deposit $50 upon claiming it but of course you will get it back when you return the device before departure.
Money. We exchange a few IDR from BPI. We have USD and had our atms activated for international use. We didn’t have problems withdrawing IDR from the atm at the arrival hall of Denpasar airport. There’s just a small fee for international withdrawal.
