Eastern Kyoto: Kiyomizudera, Higashiyama District & geisha hunting in Gion

This part of Kyoto is the easiest to explore as they are with in walking distance to each other. We started after lunch starting from Kiyomizu-michi bus stop and walk leisurely to each site to end up in Gion district around 5pm for our geisha hunting.

The streets of Higashiyama is one of the prettiest district in Kyoto. Walking along the narrow lanes, along the rows of local shops and cafes, one would feel the old Kyoto with its traditional vibe. I can see why tourist flock these place. It’s history is well preserved but definitely full of life.

Tip: Be at the Gion district around 5pm. Secure a spot at one of the alleys along Hanami-koji and wait. They usually come out before 6pm to go to their respective gigs for the night. Click Click Click.
