Highlights:

1.If you ever go to Camiguin, don’t ever pass on White Island. It is just actually a sandbar 7 mins away from the Island via a pump boat. Sunrise or sunset are the best times to go. It doesn’t have any shade to protect you from the heat but some locals have big umbrellas for rent. We went there around 545am and and for like 15-20 minutes we have the whole sandbar to ourselves. Went back just a little before 7 as the sun starts to settle.

2. After breakfast, we headed to Benoni port to catch the 9am schedule going back to Balingoan Port.
Timeline: from the resort 45 mins going to Benoni port,
ferry ride to Balingoan port is 1.5,
from Balingoan port to CDO is 2 hrs,
from CDO to Iligan its 2 hrs roadtrip..

3. Iligan! AS we are pressed for time we only got to see Ma. Cristina Falls and Tinago Falls. We were only allowed to view Ma. Cristina Falls up to a certain point. Our group were talking about how this particular falls were a part of our Sibika (Social Studies) subject during elementary. Memories. Before we only saw this in books and postcards, now we have pictures by it. Awesome!

4. We were told to bring swimwear and change of clothes for Tinago Falls. You have to descend 415 steps to reach it. As you go down you will hear the sound of raging waterfall. A swimming vest is a must because the water is too deep, even the guides doesn’t know how deep it is. We rented a raft to take us to the waterfall. Standing up on the raft, we all push and tug the rope attached from the tree bank to a tree branch very near the waterfall. Until we reach the point where we are just below the raging waters. The current is so strong that I have to hold on to the rope at all times. If you don’t want to swim or get wet you can opt not to do this. Do not believe the guides saying that you will not get wet because you will be drenched! We are glad that we did as it is an awesome experience. The water is exhilarating!

5. Dinner was at Butcher’s Best Barbeque along Divisoria. Who can beat their Grilled Angus Beef Belly for only Php80? Oh and it’s good for 2! The best.

Highlights:

1. Our call time was at 3am to go to Balingoan port to Camiguin. Our driver Gammy said we should be at the port before 5am. He drove like crazy for us to get there. I didn’t even get a chance to close my eyes inside the van. Too bumpy for my taste. Its 2 hrs drive from CDO to Balingoan port and another 2 hrs ferry ride to Benoni port in Camiguin.

2. 9 hour day tour in Camiguin in a multicab: Katibawasan Falls, check in at July’s Haven, Old Volcano viewpoint, Walkway to the Old Volcano and stations of the cross, Sunken Cemetery, Old Church Ruins, Sto. Nino Cold Spring (where we also had our lunch) and Ardent Hot Spring.

3. If you’re not going to swim, you could skip the cold springs but make sure to take a dip at Ardent Hot Spring. Too good for tired muscles. Perfect to end the day tour.

4. Dinner was at Terrazas Restaurat just walking distance from July’s Haven. They offer Filipino and International dishes. Our order came after 1 1/2 hrs! And it was wiped out in less than 30 minutes. Food was good though but the service is real slooooooooow.

Highlights:

1. We watched the Pacquiao-Marquez fight in Jollibee near Divisoria. Their function room was set up to accommodate some 60 people to watch the game live via pay per view. Php185 with 1 pc chicken joy meal and drinks. Winner!

2. After the fight, we head straight to the airport to pick up our friend (we arrived in 3 batches and he’s the last to arrive) then we went to Bukidnon to experience zip lining at Dahilayan Adventure Park. Unfortunately the park closes at 5pm (we arrive around 515) and most of the staff already went home not expecting any more tourist because it was a sunday and everybody was caught up on pacquiao’s fight. Our driver Paris convinced them to let us just try the 840 meters zipline. And so we did. The longest zipline in Asia, 840 meters long and 4000 ft above sea level.

3. Dinner was at Pinutos Restaurant also in Bukidnon.

p.s. Bukidnon is 1.5 to 2 hrs rough road away from CDO.
